After spending just a few minutes with Hylton and Amy you will pick up on their passion for the ocean. Growing up on the East Coast of South Africa meant their childhoods were both full of outdoor adventures, with family and friends, along the coastline. Hylton and Amy have spent the last 12 years together on the ocean running SCUBA trips, spearfishing trips, whale swimming trips, line fishing trips as well as term and adventure yacht charters. Four of these years were spent living in the remote islands of Tonga in the South Pacific, this has taught them a lot about enjoying and appreciating the simple things in life. What they enjoy most is sharing their passion for the ocean with others, those new to it and those who are already ocean souls like themselves.
Hylton has covered many miles in his sailing career which started off 10 years ago delivering sailing yachts from South Africa to various parts of the world. Hylton is a certified freediver, SCUBA dive master, in-water whale swim guide and RYA yacht master. The minute you meet Hylton you will catch on to his passion for spearfishing, fishing and freediving. His charisma and enthusiasm will make everyone feel at home onboard. He is an extremely competent Captain and in water guide and will be sure to share any knowledge about freediving and spearfishing to those who are interested.
Amy is a certified Rescue SCUBA diver, freediver, in-water whale swim guide and has her honors degree in Marine Biology. Her passion and bubbly personality make her an instant hit with guests. She has completed 2 Atlantic crossings and has thoroughly enjoyed living on and around the ocean for the last 10 years. Through their travels Amy has picked up recipes from the South Pacific, Indonesia, South Africa and the Caribbean that she will share with you during your stay. One of their favourite parts of their lifestyle is being able to selectively catch what they cook and create fresh and delicious meals onboard or over a beach bonfire.
The crew cannot wait to have you onboard. There will be many stories told and laughs had, but most of all they cannot wait to share our beautiful oceans with you.
Growing up in South Africa near the ocean, Danika was always drawn to the allure of the sea. But it was her upbringing in the service industry that taught her the value of creating exceptional experiences for others.
Her journey took a turn when she landed a job on a yacht in Europe attending the Super yacht cup. She was swept up in the adventure and excitement of life at sea. As she honed her skills on yachts, Danika discovered a passion for adventure and a love for the freedom that came with life on the water.
She decided to move to the BVI and try out a completely different experience, this is what truly captured her heart. The island life, with its vibrant culture and stunning natural beauty, stole her soul. Danika began to appreciate the joy of connecting with others and creating unforgettable experiences for her guests.
Now, as Danika continues on her journey, she is dedicated to merging her love for adventure, service, and the ocean. She aims to inspire a sense of wonder and awe in all those around her.

BREAKFAST BURRITOS
Scrambled eggs, honey glazed ham, cheese and peppers rolled into a burrito and grilled to perfection. Served with an arugula, avocado and oven roasted cherry tomato salad.
SWEET INDULGENCES
Fluffy pancakes or waffels topped with fresh berries, maple syrup and a home-made berry sauce.
EGGS BENEDICT STACK
Lightly toasted English muffins topped with fresh baby spinach, two eggs, crispy bacon and avocado slices, drizzled with home-made hollandaise.
BERRY PARFAIT
Granola and nut clusters served with Greek yogurt, fresh berries and drizzled with raw honey. Coconut flakes, cinnamon, chia seeds and home-made berry sauce served on the side for extra toppings.

WOW. This trip was one for the books - everything about our experience on Karizma was exceptional! Amy and Hylton were perfect hosts and really made us feel comfortable while on board. The food was incredible! Amy was sweet and accommodating, as a few of us had dietary restrictions, She never made us feel like we were asking too much and every meal was delicious. Hylton was an excellent Captain - he was knowledgeable, friendly and always offered options. They both were easy to talk to and handled themselves professionally. I would highly recommend this charter for anyone looking to have the time of their life! We did not have any children on board but I'd assume nothing but the best results if we did! Our trip on Karizma around the BVIs was amazing! From the first meeting with our captain, Hylton and first mate Amy we knew we were in good hands. Amy;s food and love of the Ocean made her a huge hit with all, especially my nieces that are 9 and 13. Don't even get me started on Hylton, his passion and energy were infectious. Movie nights on the deck were a huge hit but snorkeling with Hylton and Amy took it to a whole new level. They took care of all our needs without us even noticing, they made it seamless. We were not sure what being on a boat for a week with people we did not know in charge would be like. It only took a few minutes to find out how fantastic it would be. Hylton and Amy are such fun and interesting people, our whole family loved them straight away. Our first trip ever away from Alaska at Christmas turned out to be one of the most amazing trips we have ever done! Our Step-dad spent about two years planning the perfect family vacation for his 60th birthday. 4 babies/kids- a 13month old, a 3, 5 and 7 year old and 3 adult couples. We've had some great family vacations in the past, but this one knocked it out of the park, by far, thanks to Hylton and Amz, the capt and cook. They created the perfect itinerary for our family. Even on the busiest NYE week in the BVI's, they still managed to find beautiful quiet spots to stay and swim with sea turtles, rays and all sorts of sea life. They were so patient with our kids, who fell in love with them. As soon as we were anchored or moored, all toys were at out and ready for use. There were no family arguments about where to go, how to get there, what time for what activity, etc.(which was a new experience!) Having a captain and cook was so worth it, but Hylton and Amz made it the best vacation we've ever been on. Together we started our days off, ate together, played together, explored together, relaxed together, joked and played music together, watched sunrises and sunsets and re-generated our "batteries" so we can head home to work and think about how to get right back to the islands. You each bring so much life, adventure, and top notch service to create a special environment for us. This is certainly a trip we will NEVER forget. If you are ever in the states near Washington D.C. please look us up... we'd be so happy to treat you to some of what makes our home special. Thank you for a wonderful week that exceeded all expectations. We knew we would see many beautiful locations, do some fun snorkeling and paddle boarding and enjoy being pampered, but you three made this trip all that and more. From story time, to the meals, to the drinks and beyond-everything really was spectacular. Add to that our first SCUBA experience and a host of other great opportunities, and it makes us want to do it all over again-right now!

We hardly know where to begin! Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for making this a trip of a lifetime. The itinerary was a perfect mix of adventure (cave snorkeling, baths, hiking) and relaxation (beach picnic, dinner on shore, sunset happy hours). All had fun with the water toys as well. Sofie you made us feel like royalty with your gourmet and delicious food and Kristen with your top notch service. Robbie who knew you were a tour guide, boat captain, housekeeper, and bee vanquisher-haha.

The boat - wow! Exceeded our expectations. The pictures really don’t do it justice. The room accommodations were more spacious with higher quality fixtures, bedding, lighting, A/C, electricity, storage than expected. Very very nice! The availability of comfy deck seating and water sport toys was awesome. Organization, cleanliness and attention to detail was top notch.
The crew - not even sure where to begin…. Robbie and Sofie went above and beyond to make our vacation super special. It was obvious that they had read and digested our preference form, and made sure the food, beverages, schedule were tailored to our party. Story time with Robbie, drink of the day prepped/served by Hannah, and the five-star meals made and served by Sofie were cherished daily delights. We are all seriously missing Sofie - she is a treasure!
This vacation was simply PERFECT and we are tremendously grateful for you and the crew making it so special. We look forward to the next time aboard C’est La Vie!

Robbie and Sofie were the most incredible hosts. As a all ladies group we were a little over the top and Robbie did a great job hanging. They both did a wonderful job balancing professionalism, safety, gourmet cuisine, and fun. There were handfuls of moments where they both went above and beyond to make the trip special. Noticing our silly needs even before we knew we had them. Sofie knew when to play the perfect song, add disco lights, and could remember who liked what with their food. They are the BEST first mate and captian we have ever had. Please tell them we genuinely loved every moment and appreciate them endlessly!

Robbie and Sophia were absolutely AMAZING!!! they truly went above and beyond with their services. They were so much FUN and were always keeping us organized. coming back from snorkeling and finding our towels folded, and then keeping our snorkel and dive gear all organized was such a surprise. We love them both dearly, and hope to sail again with them very soon!!!! Was truly our BEST VACATION EVER!!!! Not sure if any other captain and first mate could match their services.

Any superlatives that one can use for the work of Sophia and Robbie are inadequate. They are simply wonderful people that do an amazing job. The sailing was excellent, the food was superb and the interaction with Sophia and Robbie was great. I cannot imagine how they could possibly have done better.

Sofia and Robbie was very professional and attentive to our family. Sophia accommodated the dietary requirements of our youngest daughter with the skills of a five star chef. Robbie commanded the yacht with ease and confidence. His choice of moorings and anchorages were all beautiful locations to enjoy the sunsets and sunrises. The music play list provided by the crew were the best I have experienced

Robbie and Sophie went above and beyond on this vacation. Sophie really catered to all our dietary needs. Robbie took us to several places and told us stories about each place. Every night they asked how we enjoyed the day and if there was anything that we wanted to do the next day.

Robbie and Sofie were an excellent crew. Robbie kept everything interesting, played great music, and was very engaging and fun. Sofie was also very engaging, made excellent meals, and was exceptionally accommodating for some of our special dietary needs. They were both highly professional yet still super friendly, I would gladly sail with them again.

The service on this trip was phenomenal! Mind you we have never had bad service with Tradewinds but Robbie and Sofie went above and beyond to make sure we had a great vacation. Their customer service was exceptional. I cannot say enough good things about them. They made sure we had everything we needed at all times so we could relax and enjoy our time in the BVIs. Scuba, snorkeling, kayaking, paddle boarding, sunbathing, hiking, geocaching. We did it all!

Captain Robby and first mate, Sophia, were perfect hosts. Their competence and attention to keeping tidy quarters were superb. They each had their own special culinary skills -- Robby was a supreme grill master and Sophie excelled at presentation and taste.

This was my first (and probably only) catamaran experience, and I was so honored to spend it with Robbie and Sofia on that awesome 60-ft!! They were most attentive and went out of their ways to make sure we had everything we needed and catered, when necessary. I had a bruised ankle and fell and injured that same ankle toward the beginning of the trip. They still catered to my inability to take more dingy trips. They were there to give me more than adequate support (my, they both are so STRONG). The food was awesome, and we expressed our desire (with everyone on our boat) that we'd pay for a recipe book for all that we ate. Sofie prepared it with the love and expertise desired by TradeWinds, and Robbie was a perfect 1st Mate in the kitchen. He was a perfect Captain, while Sofie was the perfect 1st Mate otherwise. They are well-trained and completely socially compatible with each other and all of us. If my husband and I were more water sports enthusiasts and younger, we might have enjoyed it even more.

The crew: Robbie and Sophie were one of the most dedicated and professional crews we ever had. It is very important to point out that, although crews are, in general, of great excellence, this one exceeded all our expectations. Robbie is a very professional sailor and diving instructor. Sophie a superb chef. Both constitute a very good team. Last but not least, both are very, very, very good people.
